St. Mary’s Welcomes its St. Joseph Worker
St. Mary’s welcomes Lydia Vetsch! Lydia is a St. Joseph Worker who will be spending the next several months with us. The St. Joseph Worker program is also a Ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Young women, recent college graduates, live in community and work at various sites in the Twin Cities while discerning the next phase of their personal and professional life. Lydia is a 2020 graduate of St. Benedict’s College in St. Joseph, Minnesota where she majored in Biology and Spanish. While at St. Mary’s Health Clinics Lydia will assist with interpreter needs, work on special projects and provide clinic support as needed. We are happy to have Lydia join us!
Nursing Students
The summer months at St. Mary’s Health Clinics were enhanced by the presence of nursing students from St. Catherine University, students working toward their MSN during their Public Health rotation. Students were able to observe medication pick-up clinics, the work behind reopening clinics and actually support the team as some clinics reopened. They’ve gained experiences during a pandemic that they may not encounter again as they move into their careers. Having students on site is the surest way to stay current!
